Privacy Policy
Effective September 26, 2026
Calppak (캘빡 in Korean, the "app") is a Mac menu bar app and an iPhone and iPad app made by ForgeLab. This policy explains what information the app handles, where, and how.
1. Information we collect
None. You don't need to sign up or sign in, and the developer receives no information about you: no name, email, location, device identifier or advertising identifier. The app makes no network requests to the developer's servers or anywhere else. Purchases go through Apple's App Store (StoreKit), and the free-use counter through your own iCloud.
2. What stays on your device
- Copied text, screenshots and the events found in them are processed in memory on your device. The app doesn't store them.
- Finding events happens entirely on your device. Apple Vision reads the text in screenshots, Apple's date detector finds dates and times, and the Apple Intelligence model built into your device names the events. Nothing is sent to AI services outside your device.
- Events you add and .ics files you save are the only things that remain, and only the ones you choose. Events go into the calendar you pick, and .ics files are saved where you choose. After that, syncing follows your calendar account settings (such as iCloud, Google or Exchange) and that service's policies.
- The app itself stores only its settings (such as the calendar for new events) and the free-use counter. The counter is kept in this device's keychain and in your iCloud key-value storage, so your devices with the same Apple Account share it and it stays after you delete and reinstall the app. Apple keeps the iCloud copy in your account; the developer can't see it. Deleting the app removes its settings.
3. Permissions
Calendar (full access)
Used only to list your calendars, add the events you choose, and remove the events you just added if you tap Undo right after adding. Listing calendars and removing events you just added both need full access, which is why the app asks for it. The app doesn't read or change any other events in your calendars.
Photos
The app doesn't ask for access to your photo library. When you tap Choose Screenshot, the system photo picker opens and passes only the screenshot you pick to the app. The app can't see any other photos.
Clipboard
- The app reads the clipboard only when you open Calppak or tap Paste or Find. What it reads is used only to find events and is not stored.
- On iPhone and iPad, the Paste button is a system button that hands over what you copied only when you tap it, so it doesn't ask for permission.
- To let you know the clipboard seems to have a date, the app uses only Apple's pattern detection, which doesn't read the contents. On a Mac, a timer checks only whether the clipboard has changed for this.
4. Payments
Monthly and yearly plans (auto-renewing subscriptions) and the lifetime plan are bought through Apple's App Store. Apple handles the payment, and the developer can't see payment details such as card numbers. The app only checks with StoreKit, on your device, whether you have a plan. You can manage subscriptions and request refunds through your Apple Account.
5. Third parties and outside services
Since nothing is collected, nothing is shared with anyone. The app contains no third-party analytics, advertising SDKs, tracking technologies or off-device AI services. Apple Intelligence, Vision and date detection are built into the operating system and run on your device.
6. Children
Calppak collects no personal data from anyone of any age, including children.
7. Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, we'll post the update on this page with a new effective date. Important changes will also be noted in the app's update notes.
