1. 서비스 소개

Second Half(이하 "앱")는 새 TOEFL iBT를 준비하는 한국어 사용자가 읽기 유형 Complete the Words에 대비해 학술 어휘의 철자를 익히도록 돕는, 독립적으로 개발된 iOS 앱입니다. 앱은 TOEFL을 시행하는 ETS와 관계가 없습니다. 앱은 네 밴드의 학술 예문 카드 3,855장, 모른 단어를 입력해 확인하는 직접 쓰기, 어미가 만드는 품사와 그 적중률을 정리한 어미 노트를 제공합니다. 처음 7일(공부한 날 기준)은 제한 없이 무료이고, 그 뒤에는 하루 이용량 안에서 무료이며, 구독(이용권)으로 하루 제한을 없앨 수 있습니다.

2. 무료 이용과 앱 내 구입

• 무료: 학습한 날을 기준으로 처음 7일은 모든 밴드와 기능을 제한 없이 쓸 수 있습니다. 그 뒤에는 하루 카드 20장과 직접 쓰기 10개까지 무료이며, 모든 밴드와 기능은 계속 열려 있습니다. 무료 7일은 학습 기록 지우기로 다시 시작되지 않으며, 같은 iCloud 계정에서는 앱을 다시 설치해도 이어서 셉니다.
• 유료: 이용권은 월간 구독과 연간 구독 두 가지이며, 어느 것이든 하루 제한 없이 네 밴드의 모든 카드를 엽니다. 이미 구입한 이용권의 범위는 줄어들지 않습니다.
• 자동 갱신 구독(월간, 연간): 현재 기간이 끝나기 최소 24시간 전에 해지하지 않으면 같은 기간, 같은 가격으로 갱신되며, 기간이 끝나기 전 24시간 안에 Apple 계정으로 결제됩니다. iOS 설정 > Apple 계정 > 구독에서 언제든 해지할 수 있고, 해지해도 결제한 기간이 끝날 때까지 이용할 수 있습니다. 앱을 삭제해도 구독은 해지되지 않습니다.
• 가격 변경: 구독 가격이 바뀌면 Apple의 정책에 따라 미리 알리며, 인상된 가격은 기존 구독자의 동의 없이 적용되지 않습니다.
• 가격은 App Store에 표시된 금액이며 국가, 환율, 프로모션에 따라 다를 수 있습니다.
• 결제는 Apple 계정으로 이루어지며 회원가입이나 로그인이 필요하지 않습니다.
• 같은 Apple 계정으로 로그인한 다른 기기나 앱을 다시 설치한 뒤에는 "구매 복원"으로 구입을 복원할 수 있습니다.
• 구독을 포함한 환불은 Apple App Store의 환불 정책을 따릅니다. 개발자는 환불을 직접 처리할 수 없으며, reportaproblem.apple.com에서 요청할 수 있습니다.

3. 학습 데이터

선택한 밴드, 회독과 카드별 학습 기록, 직접 쓰기 목록은 사용자의 기기와 본인의 iCloud 계정(키-값 저장소)에 저장됩니다. 개발자는 사용자의 학습 데이터를 어떤 서버에도 수집하거나 저장하지 않습니다. 앱의 "학습 기록 지우기"를 실행하면 학습 기록 전체가 지워지며 되돌릴 수 없습니다.

4. 콘텐츠, 어미 노트, 음성

• 모든 단어, 예문, 음성은 앱 안에 들어 있으며 학습에 인터넷 연결이 필요하지 않습니다. 콘텐츠는 앱 업데이트로 추가되거나 수정될 수 있습니다.
• 단어와 예문을 읽는 음성은 사람이 녹음한 것이 아니라 AI 음성 모델로 미리 만든 것입니다. 음성이 없는 문장은 기기에 내장된 음성으로 읽습니다.
• 카드는 시험의 Complete the Words 방식을 본떠 개발자가 만든 연습용 문장이며, 실제 기출문제가 아닙니다.
• 어미 노트의 품사와 적중률은 앱에 담긴 단어를 대상으로 개발자가 측정한 값입니다. 어미에는 예외가 있으며, 다른 단어나 문맥에서는 결과가 다를 수 있습니다.
• 밴드는 ETS가 발표한 1~6 밴드와 0~120점 환산표를 참고해 나눈 것이며, 공식 점수나 판정이 아닙니다.
• TOEFL®은 ETS의 등록 상표입니다. 앱과 스토어 설명에서 "TOEFL"은 콘텐츠가 대비하는 시험을 나타내기 위해서만 쓰였으며, 앱은 ETS와 관계가 없고 후원, 보증, 승인을 받지 않았습니다.

5. 면책

앱은 학습 보조 도구이며 특정 밴드나 점수를 보장하지 않습니다. 회독 기록과 어미 노트의 적중률은 연습을 돕는 참고치입니다.

6. 약관의 변경

이 약관은 필요할 때 바뀔 수 있으며, 변경 내용은 이 페이지에 알립니다.

7. 준거법과 분쟁

이 약관은 대한민국 법률을 따릅니다. 앱과 관련해 분쟁이 생기면 먼저 아래 이메일로 문의해 주시면 성실히 협의하겠습니다. 협의로 해결되지 않는 분쟁에 관한 소송은 민사소송법에 따른 관할 법원에 제기하며, 법령에 달리 정함이 없으면 개발자의 사업장 소재지를 관할하는 법원을 제1심 법원으로 합니다. 이 약관의 일부가 무효가 되더라도 나머지는 효력을 유지합니다.

1. About the service

Second Half ("the App") is an independently developed iOS application that helps Korean speakers preparing for the new TOEFL iBT learn to spell academic words for the reading task Complete the Words. The App is not affiliated with ETS, which administers the TOEFL. The App provides 3,855 academic sentence cards in four bands, a typing check for the words you did not know, and ending notes that show which part of speech an ending makes and how often. The first seven study days are free without limit; after that the App stays free within a daily allowance, and a subscription (a pass) removes the daily limit.

2. Free use and in-app purchases

• Free: the first seven days on which you study are free without limit. After that, 20 cards and 10 typed words a day stay free, with every band and feature still available. Clearing the study record does not restart the free week, and on the same iCloud account it carries over a reinstall.
• Paid: a pass is a monthly subscription or a yearly subscription; either removes the daily limit on every card of all four bands. The scope of a pass you have already bought is never reduced.
• Auto-renewing subscriptions (monthly, yearly): unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period, a subscription renews for the same period at the same price, and your Apple account is charged within 24 hours before the period ends. You can cancel at any time in iOS Settings > Apple Account > Subscriptions, and you keep access until the paid period ends. Deleting the App does not cancel a subscription.
• Price changes: subscription price changes are announced in advance under Apple's policies, and an increase is not applied to existing subscribers without their consent.
• Prices are those shown in the App Store and may vary by country, exchange rate and promotion.
• Payment is handled through your Apple account; no sign-up or login is required.
• Purchases can be restored with "Restore purchases" on another device signed in to the same Apple account, or after reinstalling the App.
• Refunds, including subscription refunds, follow the Apple App Store's refund policy. The Developer cannot process refunds directly; request one at reportaproblem.apple.com.

3. Study data

Your band, rounds, per-card records and typing list are stored on your device and in your own iCloud key-value storage. The Developer collects or stores none of your study data on any server. "Clear study record" in the App clears the whole record and cannot be undone.

4. Content, ending notes and voice

• Every word, sentence and voice clip is inside the App; studying needs no internet connection. Content may be added or corrected in App updates.
• The voice that reads words and sentences was not recorded by a person; it was made in advance with an AI voice model. Sentences without a clip are read by the device's built-in voice.
• The cards are practice sentences written by the Developer after the way the Complete the Words task is set; they are not actual test questions.
• The parts of speech and rates in the ending notes were measured by the Developer over the words in the App. Endings have exceptions, and results may differ for other words or contexts.
• The bands follow the 1-6 band and 0-120 concordance published by ETS for reference; they are not an official score or judgment.
• TOEFL® is a registered trademark of ETS. "TOEFL" is used in the App and its store listing only to say which test the content prepares for; the App is not affiliated with, sponsored, endorsed or approved by ETS.

5. Disclaimer

The App is a study aid and does not guarantee any band or score. Round records and ending-note rates are practice aids.

6. Changes to these terms

These terms may change when needed; changes are posted on this page.

7. Governing law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Korea. If a dispute arises about the App, please first contact the Developer by the email below; we will work it out in good faith. Lawsuits over disputes not resolved that way are brought in the court with jurisdiction under the Civil Procedure Act and, unless the law provides otherwise, the court with jurisdiction over the Developer's place of business is the court of first instance. If any part of these terms is invalid, the rest remains in effect.
