1. 개요

이 방침은 ForgeLab(대표 Jason Lee, 이하 "개발자")이 배포하는 iOS 앱 Second Half(TOEFL 어휘 학습 앱, 이하 "앱")에 적용됩니다. 개발자는 「개인정보 보호법」 등 관련 법령을 지키며, 이 방침에서 앱이 어떤 정보를 다루고 어떻게 처리하는지 설명합니다. 이 방침에서 정하지 않은 사항은 이용약관과 관련 법령을 따릅니다. TOEFL®은 ETS(Educational Testing Service)의 등록 상표이며, 앱과 스토어 설명에서는 콘텐츠가 대비하는 시험을 나타내기 위해서만 이 이름을 썼습니다. 앱은 ETS와 관계가 없고 후원이나 승인을 받지 않았습니다.

2. 개인정보를 수집하지 않습니다

앱은 개인정보를 수집하지 않습니다. 회원가입, 로그인, 계정 생성을 요구하지 않습니다. 개발자는 사용자 데이터를 저장하는 자체 서버를 운영하지 않으며, 이름, 이메일, 전화번호, 위치, 기기 식별자, 광고 식별자 등 어떤 개인정보도 수집하거나 전송받지 않습니다. 앱은 마이크, 카메라, 사진, 연락처, 위치에 접근하지 않습니다.

3. 기기와 iCloud에 저장되는 학습 데이터

앱은 학습 기능을 위해 아래 데이터를 사용자의 기기에 저장하고, 재설치 뒤 복원을 위해 사용자 본인의 iCloud(키-값 저장소)에도 함께 저장합니다.

이 데이터는 사용자의 Apple 계정에 속하며 Apple의 iCloud를 통해서만 동기화됩니다. 개발자는 이 데이터를 열람하거나 접근할 수 없습니다. iCloud 동기화는 Apple의 서비스 상태와 사용자의 iCloud 설정에 따라 달라지며, iCloud를 끄거나 Apple 계정을 바꾸면 복원되지 않을 수 있습니다. 개발자는 관련 법령이 허용하는 범위에서, 기기 교체, 앱 삭제, iCloud 설정 변경, Apple 서비스 장애 등으로 생긴 학습 데이터의 손실이나 복원 실패에 대해 책임을 지지 않습니다.

4. 앱 내 구입과 구독

이용권(월간 구독, 연간 구독)은 Apple App Store를 통해 판매되며 결제의 당사자는 Apple입니다. 카드 번호 등 결제 정보는 Apple이 처리하고 앱과 개발자는 접근할 수 없습니다. Apple은 개발자에게 이름이나 결제 수단이 포함되지 않은 거래 정보(거래 식별자, 상품, 구입 및 갱신 일시, 환불 여부 등)를 제공할 수 있습니다. 개발자는 이 정보를 이용권 확인과 복원, 환불과 분쟁 대응, 세무와 회계 처리 목적으로만 사용하며 관련 법령이 정한 기간 동안 보관할 수 있습니다. 구독 해지, 환불, 결제 내역 확인은 Apple 계정 설정에서 하며 Apple의 정책을 따릅니다.

5. 네트워크 통신

모든 단어, 예문, 음성은 앱 안에 들어 있으며 학습에는 인터넷 연결이 필요하지 않습니다. 앱은 아래 목적으로만 인터넷에 연결합니다.

음성: 영어 단어와 예문은 AI 음성 모델로 미리 만들어 앱에 담은 음성을 재생하며, 음성이 없는 문장은 iOS에 내장된 음성 합성으로 읽습니다. 두 경우 모두 기기 안에서 처리되며 음성 데이터가 외부로 전송되지 않습니다. 직접 쓰기에서 입력한 글자는 기기 안에서 정답과 비교할 뿐 저장하거나 전송하지 않습니다. 그 밖의 통신은 하지 않습니다.

6. 제3자 서비스, 광고, 추적

앱은 광고 네트워크, 분석 도구, 추적 SDK를 사용하지 않으며 광고 식별자(IDFA)를 요청하지 않습니다. 사용자가 iPhone 설정에서 Apple에 앱 분석 정보 공유를 허용한 경우, Apple이 익명으로 집계한 충돌 보고와 사용 통계를 개발자에게 제공할 수 있습니다. 이 정보로는 개인을 식별할 수 없습니다.

7. 문의 시 처리되는 정보

사용자가 이메일로 문의하면 이메일 주소와 문의 내용, 첨부 파일이 개발자에게 전달됩니다. 이 정보는 답변, 문제 해결, 분쟁 대응 목적으로만 사용합니다. 소비자 불만이나 분쟁 처리에 관한 기록은 「전자상거래 등에서의 소비자보호에 관한 법률」에 따라 3년간 보관한 뒤 삭제하며, 그 밖의 문의는 처리가 끝나면 지체 없이 삭제합니다.

8. 아동의 개인정보

앱은 개인정보를 수집하지 않으므로 만 14세 미만 아동의 개인정보도 수집하지 않습니다. 만 14세 미만 사용자의 앱 내 구입은 법정대리인의 동의 아래 이루어져야 하며, Apple의 가족 공유와 구입 요청 승인 기능을 이용할 수 있습니다.

개발자는 사용자 데이터를 저장하는 서버를 운영하지 않으며, 앱은 학습을 위해 개발자나 제3자의 서버에 접속하지 않습니다. Apple과의 통신은 HTTPS로 암호화됩니다.

Apple이 운영하는 서버(iCloud, App Store)는 국외에 있을 수 있습니다. 해당 서비스 이용에는 Apple의 개인정보 처리방침이 적용됩니다.

이 방침은 이 페이지에 게시한 날부터 시행합니다. 방침이 바뀌면 최종 수정일을 고치고 새 버전을 이 페이지에 게시하며, 중요한 변경은 앱에서도 알립니다. 변경 뒤에도 앱을 계속 쓰면 바뀐 방침에 동의한 것으로 봅니다.

14. 분쟁 해결

이 방침과 관련해 분쟁이 생기면 먼저 위 이메일로 문의해 주시면 성실히 협의하겠습니다. 협의로 해결되지 않는 분쟁은 대한민국 법률을 따르며, 관할 법원은 이용약관이 정한 바를 따릅니다. 한국에서는 개인정보침해 신고센터(privacy.kisa.or.kr, 국번 없이 118)에도 문의할 수 있습니다.

1. Overview

This policy applies to Second Half (a TOEFL vocabulary study app for iOS, "the App") distributed by ForgeLab (represented by Jason Lee, "the Developer"). The Developer complies with the Personal Information Protection Act of Korea and related laws, and this policy explains what information the App handles and how. Matters not covered here follow the Terms of Use and applicable law. TOEFL® is a registered trademark of ETS (Educational Testing Service); the name is used in the App and its store listing only to say which test the content prepares for. The App is not affiliated with, sponsored by or endorsed by ETS.

2. We do not collect personal information

The App does not collect personal information. It requires no sign-up, login or account. The Developer runs no server that stores user data and collects or receives no personal information such as name, email, phone number, location, device identifiers or advertising identifiers. The App does not access the microphone, camera, photos, contacts or location.

3. Study data stored on your device and in iCloud

For its study features the App stores the following on your device and, so it can be restored after a reinstall, in your own iCloud key-value storage:

This data belongs to your Apple account and syncs only through Apple's iCloud. The Developer cannot view or access it. iCloud sync depends on the state of Apple's services and your iCloud settings; if you turn iCloud off or change Apple accounts, the data may not be restored. To the extent permitted by law, the Developer is not responsible for loss of study data or failure to restore it caused by changing devices, deleting the App, changing iCloud settings or outages of Apple's services.

4. In-app purchases and subscriptions

Passes (monthly and yearly subscriptions) are sold through the Apple App Store, and Apple is the party to the payment. Payment details such as card numbers are handled by Apple; neither the App nor the Developer can access them. Apple may give the Developer transaction information that contains no name or payment method (transaction identifier, product, purchase and renewal times, refund status and so on). The Developer uses it only to check and restore passes, handle refunds and disputes, and for tax and accounting, and may keep it for the periods the law requires. Cancelling a subscription, refunds and purchase history are handled in your Apple account settings under Apple's policies.

5. Network use

Every word, sentence and voice clip is inside the App; studying needs no internet connection. The App connects to the internet only to:

Voice: English words and sentences are played from clips made in advance with an AI voice model and shipped in the App; sentences without a clip are read by iOS's built-in speech synthesis. Both happen on the device and no audio is sent anywhere. Letters typed in the typing check are compared with the answer on the device and are neither stored nor sent. The App makes no other connections.

6. Third-party services, advertising and tracking

The App uses no advertising network, analytics tool or tracking SDK and does not request the advertising identifier (IDFA). If you allow sharing app analytics with Apple in iPhone Settings, Apple may give the Developer crash reports and usage statistics that Apple has aggregated anonymously; they cannot identify you.

7. Information handled when you contact us

If you contact us by email, your email address, message and attachments reach the Developer. They are used only to reply, solve problems and handle disputes. Records of consumer complaints or disputes are kept for three years under the Act on the Consumer Protection in Electronic Commerce and then deleted; other inquiries are deleted without delay once handled.

As the App collects no personal information, it collects none from children under 14. In-app purchases by users under 14 should be made with the consent of a legal guardian; Apple's Family Sharing and Ask to Buy can be used.

The Developer runs no server that stores user data, and the App does not connect to any server of the Developer or third parties for studying. Communication with Apple is encrypted with HTTPS.

11. Services outside Korea

Servers run by Apple (iCloud, App Store) may be located outside Korea. Apple's privacy policy applies to those services.

This policy takes effect on the day it is posted on this page. When it changes, the date above is updated and the new version is posted here; important changes are also announced in the App. Continuing to use the App after a change means you accept the changed policy.

14. Disputes

If a dispute arises about this policy, please first contact us at the email above; we will work it out in good faith. Disputes not resolved that way are governed by the laws of the Republic of Korea, with jurisdiction as set out in the Terms of Use.
